Nora Herzog receives the Female Transformers in Healthcare Award in the category “Transforming Cooperation” for co-founding the interdisciplinary spring school “Clinicum Digitale”. During her medical studies she realized the need for better technological knowledge amongst physicians as well as improved technologies for everyday clinical practice. Hence, she initiated with a group of fellow students the “Clinicum Digitale”, to connect students of medicine and technical disciplines. It fosters the excitement about interdisciplinary collaboration already at an early career stage. The research-oriented course which takes place in Dresden every year since 2020, offers an insight into the basics of each other’s disciplines. Apart from a lively networking atmosphere, students discover future research areas and explore new technological solutions in healthcare across their different disciplines.
“With this international spring school Nora Herzog not only brings physicians closer to technology and ensures that they are trained accordingly – she also introduces technical innovations to medicine. Thereby she achieves both: translation and transformation,” says laudatory speaker Alexander Stütz, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the health insurance company AOK Baden-Württemberg.
The award gives Nora Herzog the opportunity to expand her already large network in the medical-technical field even further. Since August 2023 she is also part of the MedTech startup ConnCons as their Chief Medical Officer (CMO). With this new task she wants to accelerate translation of innovative technologies into effective medical devices. In addition, she continues organizing the Clinicum Digitale with the growing found.
