Startup and project Saturday: A clear highlight

One of the most celebrated moments of Spring School was Project/Startup Saturday. This exceptional day brought real founders into the room – innovators who have built companies, led pioneering research, and tackled big challenges at the intersection of healthcare and technology. Through insightful “Lessons Learned” talks, students got a rare behind-the-scenes look at the realities of launching a startup: the highs, the lows, the unexpected twists, and the passion that drives it all. What made the day truly special was its authenticity. The founders didn’t just highlight their successes – they openly shared their struggles, their learnings, and the resilience it takes to innovate. For many, this wasn’t just a lesson – it was a moment of inspiration.

Practice-based learning and interdisciplinary growth

Participants also appreciated the practical and hands-on nature of the sessions. Whether prototyping solutions in interdisciplinary teams or testing real medical technologies, students were constantly pushed to collaborate across disciplines. Clinicum Digitale was not about passive learning – it was about practical action, and that made all the difference.

What’s Next?

Although the Spring School has ended, the journey continues. Many participants will now join our interdisciplinary project groups, conducting their own research project over the summer. These projects offer a deeper dive into the real-world applications of digital health, with guidance from experienced researchers and peers across other disciplines.

And for those ready to turn their inspiration into innovation, we’re thrilled to announce the upcoming Innovate-a-thon – a unique hackathon where interdisciplinary teams tackle real healthcare challenges together.
