Summer School

How will AI shape the future of medicine? The first week of September, 42 international students came to Dresden to learn more about how LLMs and AI are transforming medicine – from radiology to pathology to precision medicine and beyond.

A week of interdisciplinary exchange

The AI in Medicine Summer School offered a dynamic curriculum. Participants benefited from inspiring keynote lectures and gained firsthand insights from medical and technical experts. Professors Jakob N. Kather, Stephen Gilbert, Daniel Truhn, and others shared their expertise in lectures that addressed technical innovations, ethical and legal frameworks, and clinical applications. Guided, hands-on sessions allowed students and young researchers to apply methods and tools to real-world medical challenges.

During the summer school, the participants developed a comprehensive understanding of AI’s capabilities and future trajectories in fields such as radiology, pathology, and precision medicine. Engaging dialogues throughout the week fostered reflection, exchange, and new perspectives. With its outcome-oriented approach, the course equipped attendees with the knowledge and practical skills needed to strengthen their expertise.
