Started as an innovation project at the EKFZ for Digital Health, the IntelliLung project for the first clinical trial, coordinated by TU Dresden, will be follow-on funded by the European Union (EU HORIZON-HLTH-2021) from September 2022.

AI made in Germany Konrad Zuse School
The Konrad Zuse School of Excellence in Embedded Composite Artificial Intelligence (SECAI) will focus on AI computer chips and AI applications in medicine. SECAI is about to start in July 2022 and then quickly attract top international young researchers for AI technologies to Saxony.
We welcome Jakob N. Kather as Professor for Clinical Artificial Intelligence
Jakob Nikolas Kather will fill the new professorship for “Clinical Artificial Intelligence” at the EKFZ for Digital Health starting in June 2022.

The Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health at TU Dresden has been established in September 2019. Driven by specific medical needs and with direct access to medical infrastructure, the EKFZ’s research projects accelerate the digitalization of medicine – for the benefit of patients.

Dr. Hannah Muti is a Clinician Scientist at the Clinical AI research group of Prof. Jakob N. Kather. She explains why it is an advantage to be actively involved in a hospital as researching doctor, how she manages both tasks and how artificial intelligence is already being used in hospitals.
