Personalized cancer therapies, AI assistance during surgeries, support in the evaluation of medical images - artificial intelligence can improve patient care and relieve medical staff. In addition to developing technical solutions, which is ta,king place at the EKFZ for Digital Health, we also need to think about and discuss these new possibilities in terms of ethical, social and legal challenges.
At the online event "Dr. AI? Artificial Intelligence in Medicine" which took place on January 27th the High-Tech-Specialist of the EKFZ-project "CoBot", Prof. Stefanie Speidel (NCT Dresden), Prof. Jochen Schmitt (ZEGV, Medical Faculty) and Prof. Marius Distler (VTG, UKD) discussed new technical developments in the field of surgical assistance systems as well as the impact of AI on the doctor-patient relationship and on the medical profession
The event concluded the interdisciplinary lecture series "Glocal Trends of the 21st Century", jointly organized by the Institute for International Law, Intellectual Property and Technology Law, the Center for International Studies of the TU Dresden and the Saxon State Agency for Civic Education.
